We discovered the animation of Tynehsa Foreman through her work on Netflix’s topical comedy show Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj. Shows she has contributed have dealt with such subjects as NAACP co-founder and historian W.E.B. Du Bois’ ”Strivings of the Negro People” (1897), the global impact of American rap, and John Legend and Jesse Williams on art and activism. Her work on our film includes her dazzling animation of Umar Bin Hassan’s reading of Steve Cannon’s essay poem homage to David Hammons.
